As we launch the new version of #TAD, our blog, I intend to make a few changes to my writing/blogging approach. I believe (perhaps falsely?) that I write reasonably well- in a way that manages to engage my readers. So the output is reasonably good. The problem lies in the process. In my head, it’s a chore. Not that I don’t enjoy it. But it often takes me hours and days of procrastination to figure out what I want to write about. Compound that with my crazy schedule and lack of bandwidth and it gives you someone who (thinks he) writes rather well but hardly ever does it.

I look at people around me- my wife, Tara, who manages to churn out a blog post within 25 minutes, from when inspiration strikes to when she shares the link to her latest piece on her facebook page. She usually even writes each of her TV show episodes within one sitting. Then there’s Heather, who pops them out pretty regularly with seeming ease- blogs, articles; she even wrote a book while she was pregnant. And then, there’s Fred Wilson, one of the world’s most respected venture capitalists, who’s been updating his blog- avc.com (that’s what he is- a VC!) every single day since September 2003.

I’m not about to do that. But I do endeavour to write something every week to start with. Given the paucity of time and bandwidth, what I write or share may be short, may be random, may sometimes be shallow and mundane. But I intend to do it.

So here goes.
