THE THINGS OF INTERNET
#WHATELSE Axon Alex • January 27, 2017This is just proof that I’m working and not just sitting on my desk browsing around the Internet for interesting things. Big things and small that make up the culture of the vastness that is the Internet. I think I’ll not be imaginative and call it, ‘The things of internet’. I’ll also write exactly the multiple thoughts I have on each so I end up rambling instead of being succinct. Did I spell that right?

2016 was a great year for advertising. Make America great again was an example of great advertising selling a questionable product. I feel the seething anger already, but I find it interesting that the team behind the ‘good’ guys can never seem to work well together. Simplicity and clarity always find their way on the side of the guys with the harder job. Anyways, here’s an interesting analysis of how and why advertising didn’t help the vote against #BREXIT

How would you react if a male voice gave directions in Google maps? Does it make a difference when a male voice guides you through the very complicated customer service IVRs instead of the female voice? Maybe it’s just that the vastness of the internet needs a comforting voice to guide you. Maybe browsing the internet is less lonely when you have Siri by your side.

This is the history of Japan that you don’t get in a classroom, but will teach the attention deficient Internet generation more than a classroom ever will. How does education cope with the 8 second attention span of kids when an entertainment behemoth like the NBA cant?
Sometimes all it takes to hold the collective attention of the perennially bored internet is to make each of them believe they are special in absolute terms –h an optical illusion

This new video from Wyclef Jean is brilliant enough because you are always wondering if it’s real or staged. The real genius however is that real or staged, you are left thinking how brilliant it is.

Take an existing idea and roll with it till it hits absurdity.

And here’s why absurdity is a bigger driver of change than logic and morals on the internet.. Don’t believe me? Ask isaiah Mustafa…
